RABBIT SECURES GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION RIGHTS FOR AWARD WINNING THE UNUSUAL REPORT

We are proud to announce the acquisition of international distribution rights – both tape and format – for The Unusual Report, an award winning hit comedy travel show originally produced by New Zealand’s Kevin & Co.

Created by comedian Guy Williams and Kevin & Co, the series (originally titled New Zealand Today) dives into the wonderfully bizarre headlines of small-town life, spotlighting quirky local stories and viral personalities through a uniquely comedic lens.

“We’re thrilled to bring The Unusual Report to international markets,” says Sam Ferguson, VP International at Rabbit Films. “This show is the perfect mix of offbeat humour and heartwarming human stories. It’s a format that can travel – and we’re excited to see how it evolves in different cultures.”

Bronwynn Bakker, Executive Producer at Kevin & Co, adds: “Over four seasons, New Zealand Today has become a national treasure. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the international appetite for the show, and we couldn’t be happier to partner with Rabbit Films. Sam Ferguson’s enthusiasm and understanding of the format make Rabbit the perfect home for The Unusual Report as it heads to the global stage.”

The series has been a long-running success in New Zealand, airing on Sky Free’s Three and streaming on ThreeNow since 2019, with over 40 episodes across four seasons and a fifth currently in production. It also recently landed on Netflix in Australia and New Zealand.

With a proven track record and strong international fan interest, The Unusual Report marks a fresh, funny, and highly adaptable addition to our growing catalogue of global formats!
