Rabbit Films’ hit drama Queen of Fucking Everything wins at Venice TV Award 2025!

We are proud to announce that Rabbit Films’ acclaimed drama series Queen of Fucking Everything has been recognized at the prestigious Venice TV Award 2025. The series took home the Winner title in the DIRECTOR category, celebrating the exceptional vision and creativity of writer-director Tiina Lymi. Additionally, the series received a Nomination in the SERIES category, representing Finland’s national broadcaster Yle.

Queen of Fucking Everything is a bold, genre-defying drama known for its dark humour, unpredictable storytelling and unique perspective. Premiering on Yle Areena on January 1, 2025, and later on Yle TV1, the series quickly became a national phenomenon. It shattered viewership records by reaching over 10 million unique starts in its first month – a staggering feat in a country of 5.5 million – making it the most-watched series of all time on Yle Areena.

Created, written, and directed by Tiina Lymi, one of Finland’s most celebrated filmmakers, the series showcases her remarkable talent for emotional depth, sharp dialogue, and powerful character work. Her background in both theatre and film has helped shape a series that resonates deeply with both audiences and critics.

The Venice TV Award jury praised the series for its emotional resonance and compelling storytelling, stating:

“Queen of Fucking Everything resonates on a very personal level, bringing together strong performances and storytelling that truly connect.”

Rabbit Films CEO and Executive Producer Olli Suominen commented:

“Tiina Lymi’s visionary work really paid off, and we are super proud of this boundary-breaking series that became such a massive hit. The series has been picked up in over ten territories with more to come – and we are also thrilled to be working on the second season already.”

In addition to its domestic success, Queen of Fucking Everything is gaining strong international traction. The series has been acquired by major broadcasters and platforms including SVT (Sweden), AMC Networks International (Spain), Rialto (New Zealand), ERR (Estonia), All Media Baltics (Baltics), ZDF (Germany), NPO (Netherlands), VRT (Belgium), NRK (Norway) and RÚV (Iceland). Global distribution continues under Rabbit’s International division, with the series set to be showcased at MIPCOM Cannes this October.

Over the Atlantic Sweden Season 9 Premieres to Record Ratings – Season 10 Confirmed!

Season 9 of Över Atlanten, the Swedish adaptation of Rabbit Films’ original format Over the Atlantic, premiered on Kanal 5 Sweden (WBD) on Tuesday, September 2nd, drawing an impressive 416,000 total viewers and a 21.6% share in the key 25–69 demographic. This marks the highest share for a local Swedish production on Kanal 5 in 16 years! Over the Atlantic was also easily the evening’s linear TV slot winner, as well as the most-watched series on the entire HBO Max in Sweden.

“Nothing makes us at Kanal 5 and HBO Max happier than receiving such a positive response to our content from the audience,” said Axel Eriksson, VP of Content and Programming at Warner Bros. Discovery Sweden.

Over the Atlantic is an epic adventure reality series where a group of celebrities, with no prior sailing experience, must cross the Atlantic Ocean together. The journey is filled with thrilling challenges and unforgettable moments — but also becomes a profound voyage of self-discovery.

To celebrate the show’s continued success, Kanal 5 has also officially commissioned Season 10. Last week, a new crew of six celebrities set sail from Gran Canaria, aiming to reach Salvador, Brazil later this month. Season 10 is scheduled to air on Kanal 5 Sweden and HBO Max in spring 2026. Över Atlanten is produced by Mastiff Sweden (Banijay).

“I think this might be the first-ever Season 10 of any format in my career so far! I’m so happy and proud that this milestone was reached with Over the Atlantic Sweden. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Kanal 5 and Mastiff, and watching our format thrive year after year,” commented Jonathan Tuovinen, SVP International at Rabbit Films.

The original version, Atlantin yli, premiered on TV5 Finland (WBD) in 2017, followed shortly by the first international adaptation on Kanal 5 Denmark (WBD). The Swedish version has been a continuous hit since 2019, now airing two seasons per year. Other international adaptations include the Netherlands (RTL), Belgium (Play4), Poland (TVN), and Norway (TVNorge).
