New Format Alert: Masters of Everyday Life

We are happy to announce that Rabbit has secured the international distribution rights for the quiz format Masters of Everyday Life (original title: Meister des Alltags).

Created by Bavaria Entertainment together with SWR Germany, Masters of Everyday Life is a studio-based quiz show that sees teams of celebrities compete in topics related to everyday knowledge.

In Masters of Everyday Life two teams of celebrities try to answer everyday life questions such as, “How do you remove a chocolate ice cream stain from a t-shirt?” or “How do you get a ring off a swollen finger?” The host gives five possible answers, but any of them could be right or wrong. The celebrities have only 10 seconds to place each answer in the True or False column. Each correct answer earns the team up to 200€. The prize money won during the show is always donated to a charity close to the winning team’s heart. It’s the quiz show that unlocks the mysteries of the everyday with celebrity smarts!

Masters of Everyday Life has been on air since 2012, with over 300 episodes produced so far. A typical season consists of 12 episodes of 30 mins. The series originally premiered on regional channel SWR, but due to its continued success has since also started to additionally air on the pan-regional broadcaster ARD. The format comes with question bank of over 3000 tried and tested questions. This is the first time that the format is being presented to the international market.

Jonathan Tuovinen, SVP International at Rabbit Films, commented:

Masters of Everyday Life is a fantastic format that combines the useful information that we can all learn from with audience’s will to know their favourite celebrities even closer. It is funny, entertaining and educational at the same time! We are extremely happy to be partnering with Bavaria Entertainment to bring the format in front of international audiences.

Jan Hill, Senior Development Producer of Bavaria Entertainment, continued:

Queen of Fucking Everything Gives YLE Best First Week Numbers Ever!

Rabbit Films’ new black comedy crime series Queen of Fucking Everything (6 x 50’) has started the new year off with a bang! The series, which premiered on 1.1.2025, has given public broadcaster YLE its best first week numbers of all time.

In a country of 5 million inhabitants, there have been a spectacular 4 million combined unique starts for all the episodes of Queen of Fucking Everything on YLE Areena, the broadcaster’s VOD platform. The first episode has been watched in full already by 548,000 viewers, making it not only the steamer’s most watched series of the week, but also the biggest single-week number in the country ever!

On the linear side, things are looking equally bright. The first episode aired on Sunday 5.1.2025 at 9pm on YLE1, and reached a peak of 1,017,000 viewers, with an average of 616,000. Combined, episode 1 has amassed a Total-TV viewership of 1,143,000 (3+). This made it the most-watched non-sports programme of the week in the whole country!

QOFE has surpassed even the wildest targets the broadcaster set for the series. Jarmo Lampela, Head of Drama at YLE, stated: “This is an excellent start! The series has clearly garnered the most views within a week of its release compared to all domestic drama series over the past several years. It’s also an extremely positive sign that the final episode of the season has gained viewers so quickly, meaning that people are binge watching the full series in one go.”

The series has also received an overwhelmingly positive massive reaction online, and has easily become the biggest media phenomenon of the year! Helsingin Sanomat, Finland’s largest newspaper, gave the series a very rare 5 star review and called it “A perfect bullseye of a series”.

Queen of Fucking Everything tells the story of leading Helsinki real estate agent and high society fixture Linda, who wakes up one morning to find her husband missing, probably dead, leaving her owing millions of dollars of debt. Unwilling to give up her lifestyle, Linda turns to a life of crime to keep up appearances. She starts from small-time theft, but is then drawn deeper into Helsinki’s criminal underworld, and in the end… murder. Eventually she rises to become the Queen of Fucking Everything.

The series is a part of the NEW8 European Public Broadcaster project and is the first series in the collaboration to come out of Finland. Through the scheme, the rights have been acquired by ZDF (Germany), NPO (Netherlands), VRT (Belgium), NRK (Norway), and RUV (Iceland). International sales of both the finished series and format is handled by Rabbit Films.

Multiple international pre-sales of upcoming drama Queen of Fucking Everything!

We are happy to announce multiple pre-sales of Queen of Fucking Everything, our upcoming drama series toned with dark humour, ahead of the global premiere at Content London. The series, originally commissioned by YLE (Finland), has been acquired by ZDF (Germany), NPO (Netherlands), VRT (Belgium), NRK (Norway), and RUV (Iceland).

Queen of Fucking Everything (6×50’) is the story of leading Helsinki real estate agent and high society fixture Linda Saarniluoto (Laura Malmivaara, Helsinki Syndrome, Mobile 101), who wakes up one morning to find her husband Mikael (Jussi Nikkilä) missing, probably dead, leaving her owing millions of dollars of debt. Unwilling to give up her lifestyle, Linda is determined to keep up appearances. Forced to steal to survive, she starts from small-time theft but is then drawn deeper into Helsinki’s criminal underworld. There, she uses her business expertise to thrive in everything from money laundering to corrupt business deals and in the end… murder. A woman who loses everything but fights hard – and sometimes dirty – to regain success in two opposing worlds, Linda has to balance her moral limits and relationships. Eventually she rises to become… the Queen of Fucking Everything.

Queen of Fucking Everything is a Rabbit Films production for YLE, written and directed by Tiina Lymi and produced by Minna Haapkylä, Tiina-Mari Pitkänen and Olli Suominen. The premiere is set to be on VOD service YLE Areena on 1.1.2025 followed by the linear broadcaster YLE1 on 5.1.2025. The series is a part of the NEW8 European Public Broadcaster project, which was announced at Content London 2023, and is the first series in the collaboration to come out of Finland.

Jonathan Tuovinen, SVP International, Rabbit Films said: “Queen of Fucking Everything is the perfect mix of drama, crime and pitch-black comedy, exploring how far you’ll go to survive when you have lost everything. Tiina Lymi’s fantastic writing and directing, combined with Laura Malmivaara’s portrayal of a strong female character willing to do whatever it takes in a male dominated underworld, is really catching the eye of buyers. We are thrilled to be announcing these deals and looking forward to further discussions at Content London.”

NEW FORMAT ALERT: Ruin or Bargain!

The international team here at Rabbit has been hard at work once again, and we are proud to present to you a brand new non-scripted formats for MIPCOM 2024!
Ruin or Bargain is a feel-good lifestyle format, where in each episode we help a young couple find a charming old home that is in dire need of a full renovation.

Our real estate broker host introduces three different houses to the young couple. All of the houses are located in the countryside, meaning that their prices are much lower than in the big city centres. We get to follow the whole renovation process from the point of view of the couple themselves. The joy of succeeding and the desperation of failing!

After seeing the beautiful results, the host goes through the finances. What would the house be worth now if it was put on the market? So in the end, we’ll find out, whether their efforts were worth it, and if they ended up buying a Ruin… or a Bargain!

The 6 x 60 min series is set to premiere on DR1 Denmark later this year. But you can watch the teaser trailer of the series already now here!

Additionally, we are also happy to report that the studio-based celebrity game show format Five Senses has returned to its home and now is distributed by Rabbit. The 10 x 45 min series originally aired for three consecutive seasons from 2020 to 2022 on TV2 Charlie in Denmark.

In Five Senses, celebrities test their sight, smell, hear, taste and touch! In this fun game show, two teams of celebrities compete against each other in a series of games, all based on the five senses! Every round focuses on one sense, and the winning team gets to use that sense in the final round. This uplifting family entertainment format is a feast for all the senses.
